Competitive Exams

Entrance or scholarship examinations are reality of our times in which best of the students take these and qualify to further their studies and careers.

We at RKIS balance the school and competitive exams syllabus. Key is time managment. We understand that both CBSE and entrance exams are important for child's future.

The ideal time to start preparing for competitive exams is High School education. Students at this age are matured enough to realise their abilities and decide their career path. Moreover, the concepts introduced in class 9th curriculum are the fundamentals on which the foundation of higher education is laid. Secondly, there is enough time to work on the finer aspects of complex concepts.

Students can start preparing for the competitive exams they wish to sit for, be it JEE or NEET while preparing for the school exams in class 11th and 12th. This is the right time as the concepts tested in competitive exams are covered in classes 11th and 12th.
Since there is a lot to be covered in less time, it is essential to have a strategy. It is advisable that one understands the past years’ exam trends and devise the preparation strategy accordingly. They should focus on weaker subjects and revise the stronger ones. A detailed list of vital formulae comes handy in last-minute revision, hence such notes should be prepared. Finally, it is highly recommended that one practice mock tests and solve previous years’ question papers.
An early start proves beneficial while preparing for any competitive exam. It helps to analyse one’s preparation and efficiency to deliver on the D-Day.

What Makes Us Different

Most students in small cities typically focus on only securing good marks in boards exams till class X. The fundamental thought is to score really good marks in board exam, and then prepare for competitive exams either after 10th or 12th.

The prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology accept only one in 50 applicants; for perspective, Harvard takes one in 19, and Oxford, one in six

However, at RKIS we believe that students should strive a balance between board performance and getting prepped up for competition exams in the future. We believe that students should take exams such as NTSE, Olympiads etc. to assess their potential and interest. If we focus enough on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths during 9th/10th then students can be more certain and confident of subjects they want to choose after 10th.
To ensure the same, we encourage students to participate in various exams and prepare them for the same. At our online lab, students’ regular practice for exams such as NTSE, Olympiads, JEE Main, and NEET during schooling.
